Hello team Tahji Adventures

Buffaloes in Kenya are mainly the African Cape buffalo, one of the famous Big Five animals. They are found in many national parks and reserves including Maasai Mara, Tsavo, Amboseli, Buffalo Springs, and Samburu. These animals live in large herds and are mostly seen around grasslands and water sources.

Buffaloes are known for their strong build, curved horns, and unpredictable nature, making them one of the most dangerous animals to encounter in the wild. Despite their aggressive defense, they play a vital role in maintaining the ecosystem by grazing and spreading seeds.

Kenya is home to tens of thousands of buffaloes, offering excellent opportunities to view them on safari throughout the year.

I recently visited the Maasai Mara courtesy of Tahji Adventures .I had an incredible experience. While exploring the reserve, I saw a group of majestic elephants in their natural habitat. It was an awe-inspiring moment to watch them up close, moving gracefully across the savannah. The trip was unforgettable and gave me a deep appreciation for wildlife and nature.

Wildebeest Migration – The Great Migration
The Wildebeest Migration is one of the most spectacular natural events on Earth. Every year, over 1.5 million wildebeests, joined by zebras, gazelles, and eland, move in a circular journey across the Serengeti in Tanzania and the Maasai Mara in Kenya in search of fresh grazing and water.

Hiking at Mt Longonot 🇰🇪
Embarking on a Mount Longonot hike with Tahji Adventures Ltd offers a memorable experience. Located just about 68 km from Nairobi, Mount Longonot is a dormant stratovolcano rising to 2,776 meters above sea level, providing panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Naivasha.

Tahji Adventures Ltd organizes well-coordinated day trips to Mount Longonot, typically starting with an early morning departure from Nairobi. The hike is moderately challenging, taking approximately 4–5 hours to ascend to the crater rim and, optionally, around the crater's circumference. Along the trail, hikers can encounter diverse wildlife, including zebras, giraffes, and various bird species, amidst the park's lush vegetation.

Participants have praised Tahji Adventures for their professionalism and the enriching experience they provide. One hiker noted, "My experience was excellent. Our guide, was very knowledgeable and professional. The hike was a bit harder than I expected with some steep hills, but still loved it. Totally recommend doing. 10/10, wouldn’t change anything about the experience."

The breathtaking vistas from the summit, the opportunity to observe wildlife, and the chance to explore the unique volcanic landscape make this hike a standout adventure. For those seeking a day of physical activity combined with natural beauty, just join team Tahji Adventures ltd

Rhinos have relatively poor eyesight, especially compared to their other senses like smell and hearing. Here's a quick overview:

🦏 Rhino Eyesight:
Poor long-distance vision: They can only clearly see objects that are about 10–30 meters (30–100 feet) away.

Limited detail: Rhinos struggle to make out fine details or distinguish between stationary objects.

Motion detection: They are much better at noticing movement than recognizing stationary things.

Reliance on smell and hearing: Their olfactory (smell) and auditory (hearing) senses are highly developed and help compensate for their weak vision.

Color vision: It’s believed rhinos can’t see colors well—they likely see the world in shades of gray or have monochromatic vision.

A charging rhino isn’t necessarily being aggressive—sometimes they just can't tell what’s in front of them and charge out of fear or confusion.
