Which colors will you see the most while checking out this season's meteor showers...?

The color of a meteor 🌠

The color of light that the meteors produce depends on their chemical composition.

Different chemicals in the meteors produce different colors as they burn up while entering the Earth’s atmosphere.🌎

Here are examples of which chemical element causes a particular color 👇

🟠 Orange-yellow — sodium;
🟡 Yellow — iron;
🔵 Blue-green — magnesium;
🟣 Violet — calcium;
🔴 Red — atmospheric nitrogen and oxygen.

❗ By the way, the speed at which the meteor enters the Earth’s atmosphere can also affect the color. The faster a meteor moves, the more intense the color may appear.

How about making yourself comfie while enjoying some upcoming sky shows during this season’s meteor showers?

Since even summer nights can get chilly (by our Celestial Mountains, too), Nomad Sky Tours recommends:
Warm clothes, thermos with hot drink, chair or tuushuuk & blanket

& try installing a dark light app with a red light to keep your eyes better adjusted to the dark for you to more see meteors shooting across dark skies. Enjoy!

Swan Nebula views during New Moon dark skies along tranquil shores of Son Kul Lake at 3000m elevation.

Son Kul and Issyk Kul lakes are key stops for migratory bird routes in the Nomad Skies of Central Asia -- and you may occasionally see Whooper swans swimming in Issyk Kul.

Photo (unedited) from our deep sky telescopes of a peachy-pink star-making nebula shaped like a Swan creating a wake along water. Nomad Sky watermark is gently written in the imaginary wake area immediately under the bottom of the gliding swan -- an area of the Nebula looks like a wing before a dark patch of blackness contrastfully outlines the lengthy neck and head of the swan. Photo caught by Nomad Sky Tours on June 30, 2022, near Son Kul Lakeshore.
