🎠On February 21, 2026, the village of Bokonbaevo will host the finals of Salbuurun (traditional hunting with golden eagles, Taigan dogs, and archery) and various horse racing disciplines at the “Kyondyoy” Hippodrome.

The event is dedicated to the legendary storyteller Sayakbay Karalaev.

🌟🥳 In 2026 we invite you to the “Salbuurun” Festival!
⠀
🕰️The festival will be held on 1 August in Bokonbaevo village, southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan.
⠀
🦅Salbuurun is an ancient Kyrgyz hunt that includes three types: birds of prey, taigans dogs and archery. We are glad that there are still people in Kyrgyzstan preserve as well as develop the nomadic hunting!
⠀
During the festival, you will see berkutchi hunting, an archery competition and choose the most beautiful and fastest taigans. Archers will shoot in the classical way for range and accuracy, as well as at full gallop on horses!
⠀
For the convenience of visitors, festival will take place from 10 am to 4 pm. In this case, you or your travelers will have time to get to Karakol, Kochkor or Bishkek at the end of the competition.

Entrance - about 2000 soms, incl lunch. Final proce will be known in April.
