Planning to drive to Kel-Suu or Song-Kul right now? Here is the real situation on the ground you need to know before you go:
🔴 Kel-Suu Lake Road: It’s a total mess right now. Heavy mud and deep clay.
2WD cars: NO way. Do not even try, you will get stuck instantly.
4WD cars: You can pass, but only with proper high-clearance off-road tires. Check your vehicle before heading out!
🟢 Song-Kul Road: It looks wet and dirty, but it is safe. The ground underneath is solid and hard. Your car will not sink. The weather in Naryn changes very fast, but the road is open. Drive carefully and enjoy!

​❌ Chychkan Gorge: Severe flooding! The road is completely washed out and blocked. Avoid this route entirely.

⛰️ Ala-Kul: Heavy clouds and wet trails, but honestly? It looks absolutely epic right now. Just wear proper hiking boots.

🌊 Kel-Suu: The weather at the lake is fine, but the road there is a muddy a bit. Do not attempt without 4x4. Ok, but muddy!

☀️ South Shore of Issyk-Kul: The absolute best spot today! It’s completely dry, sunny, and perfect for relaxing.

☁️ Song-Kul: Extreme clouds, nearly zero visibility, and the mountain pass is heavily challenging.

Due to high temperatures and heavy local rains, there is a serious risk of mudslides (сели) in all mountain and foothill areas. River levels are rising rapidly.
Look at Ala-Kul today, June 19th — it’s completely pouring.
