Do you know the biggest epic poem in the world ? The Epic of Manas is perhaps the most famous part of Kyrgyz culture, and is the longest epic poem in the world. At 20 times longer than the Odyssey, this epic tells the life of Manas, an epic warrior, and his son and grandson. The original tale was passed orally from performer to performer, who were known as “manaschi” No matter if Manas was an actual person or not, his influence on modern Kyrgyzstan has been immense. The flag features 40 rays of sun, which represent the 40 tribes that Manas united as the first Kyrgyz state. There are landmarks across Kyrgyzstan named after Manas, from Manas International Airport to Manas Prospect to Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. One of the best reasons to come and visit Kyrgyz Republic and become the spectator of a real Manas performance!

Have you ever heard of MARSHRURTKAS ?

Kyrgyzstan's capital, like many places in the former Soviet Union, has an extensive network of minibuses, known as “marshrutkas”. They are the core public transportation of the city.
Bishkek is a pleasant city to wander with numerous leafy parks, tall trees, peppered by Soviet era statues and monuments not only with its marshrurtkas.
“Must visit” places in Bishkek are:

1) State Historical Museum - This museum sits between Ala-Too Square and the Parliament building. The museum can provide the easy digestible information on the history of the Kyrgyz nation.

2)Osh bazaar - is probably one of the must visit places for all those who have never been to Central Asia. it's certainly one of the most colourful bazaars,there are hundreds of products to choose from, especially in the spring and summer months when production is fresh from farms in the outskirts of town. Anyway visiting the Osh Bazaar is a rewarding trip

There are bunch of places to visit in the Kyrgyz capital but for now it’s important to understand that there is no better destination to go to get attached to the Post Soviet culture
