Nooruz mairamynyzdar menen! Or Happy Nooruz!

One of the most ancient holidays on Earth, Nooruz or Nauryz, has been celebrated for more than five thousand years by many peoples of Asia. This holiday signifies the arrival of spring and the renewal of nature as it coincides with the vernal equinox.

Historical information about this holiday is found in the works of ancient and medieval authors, and its roots can be found in ancient pagan rituals.

The form of celebration represents itself  the love of nature. On this day, people congratulate each other, have fun, wish well and give gifts. It is believed that the more generously this holiday is celebrated, the more prosperous the year will be.

Shyrdak is a Kyrgyz national carpet made of felt, the embroidery of which is made using mosaic technique. Try to guess the most popular meanings of the ornaments. Share your ideas in comments 💚

🧵The name comes from the word "shyryk", which means quilting - one of the main processes in the creation of this rug, which makes it strong and durable. ⠀
⠀
👭Shyrdak making is considered a very complex and time-consuming process. Typically, a team of women work to make these carpets. It takes about two months to get shyrdak of average size. ⠀
⠀
👰This felt rug still takes a honorary place in the daughter's dowry. Also every Kyrgyz woman consideres it her duty to leave at least one shyrdak to each of her sons.

⠀
❗Shyrdak can serve for 100 years, so it is a longterm souvenir that you can bring home from your journey around Kyrgyzstan. ⠀

Here we continue telling about the types of transportation for traveling in Kyrgyzstan. The beginning you can find below in blog. ⠀

🚖 TAXI is available in cities and between them. There is a number of taxi services in the capital. Also, you can take share taxi to travel to one of the destinations. For example, Bishkek-Karakol, or Bishkek-Osh.

⠀
🚞 TRAIN goes from Bishkek to Balykchi ( the western town at Issykkul lake) during summer time. It takes up to 6 hours. There is also train from Tashkent (Uzbekistan) to Balykchy (Issykkul). ⠀
⠀
🚍 PUBLIC transportation is the cheapest and most time consuming type of travelling, and, unfortunately, it doesn't go to the remote areas or high altitude pastures (like Sonkul lake). Citizens usually use buses, trolley buses and marshrutka ( mini buses).

Orozo Ait is the sacred holiday in Islam. This year the Muslims celebrate it on the 24th May. Every year the date is unique and determined by the moon calendar.
The holiday marks the end of Ramadan month, during which the Muslims observe abstinence in food, drink and joy.

🟢 Orozo Ait along with Kurman Ait are officially state not working days in Kyrgyzstan. ⠀

🟢 Men usually participate in common pray on the main square Ala-Too in Bishkek with the representatives of the government.
Women cook traditional meals, invite relatives, friends and neighbors. ⠀

🟢 On this day people have to visit 7 families, as the number "7" is sacred, taste the meals and pray. ⠀
