Pamir Kyrgyz - ethnic Kyrgyz moved to the highland of Pamir in 16th century, looking for a better land to graze the cattle. The second wave of the Kirghiz migrated to the Pamir Highlands in the 1920s-1930s in order to avoid the expropriation of livestock after the support of Soviet power in Kyrgyzstan.
