4 days private tour / 900KM finished with 44 deg on the way last day!
Bravo to Shane to endured the extreme heat & 2 long days (almost 300KM/day).
Phnom Penh to Tatai river on day 1.
Tatai River to road 55 on day 2.
Hidden Leaf Resort to Pursat on day 3.
Go back to Phnom Penh on last day.
It was hard also for me because from 11:00AM to 3:00PM we had 40 to 44 degree in the shade!

Good afternoon,

An update on the events of 2025 and 2026 impacting motorbike tours in Cambodia.

Last year we had a border dispute with Thailand. Personally, I had 2 trips of 10/15 days were not signed. It was talking about postponing them to 2026.

This year, due to conflict with Iran, 3 trips on process have been cancelled or postponed. Customers from over the world are facing flight prices increases but also insecurity about their flight to Asia.

When I make a quotation, I base my prices on rate of 4500 Riels (about $1.10/liter) to calculate the expenses of our beautiful motorbikes traveling through Cambodia. Today we see a rate of 6800 Riels ($1.70/liter). This has a badly impact on the estimated margin.

A simple accounting calculation:
- 4 customers on motorbikes for 2'000KM over 7 days
- 2300 Riels/liter more per bike (add 2 bikes for 2 tour leaders)
- Himalayan 411 use about 4l/100KM
- The margin is therefore deducted by $270!

The currently signed laps will not be increased, however I hope you understand that next quotations must take care of the price of fuel during the tour.

Of course, we hope for returning to normal situation soon, but I am not a fortune teller, it's difficult to predict the future...
But I can promise that Royal ADV Cambodia will be present in 2027 for magnificent tours in this beautiful country of smiles.

Yesterday one cool ride on Kampot Province. Just 240KM but almost red and dusty soil road!
PS: 25KM from Kampot, one flat tyre for Christophe.
