Volunteers Wanted – Artists, nature lovers, outdoors people - Koh Rong Island
The Adventure Adam team has a new project next to the beautiful natural Mangroves (only a 5 minute walk to the beach) and we are looking for volunteers to help us. As we develop our new location, there is the potential to train and progress to a paid position or new role when we open. Those interested and with a real passion will have the option to train as a tour guide.
If you enjoy the island lifestyle and are a happy, energetic and positive thinking person who has an interest in connecting with the Cambodian people and culture, then this might be the position for you!
Working with our team of Khmer and international staff, the volunteers roles will be a combination of:
- General landscaping, gardening duties and land preparation for replanting of native flora (and ultimately encouraging activity and habitation of more native fauna)
- Planting and growing new mangrove trees, fruits, vegetables and more
- Cleaning and clearing of trash from the surrounding environment and tidal mangrove waters
- Identification and research of local flora and fauna for the creation of informational signage (in English and Khmer) for our future visitors to the mangroves and gardens
- Using natural drift woods and materials to create features and decorations around the business grounds, gardens and mangroves
- Learning and sharing skills and knowledge with our Khmer team and local villagers.
Volunteers will receive:
Free shared accommodations
3 free meals a day
2 days off per week
Free use of kayak, snorkeling equipment, fishing equipment and more
Free boat tours and jungle/waterfall treks (when available)
Introduction and connection to the Cambodian villages and people through local events and celebrations
(Optional: training and knowledge of the Cambodian islands, villages, culture, reefs/marine life and natural environments, outdoors/survival skills, First Aid training, Khmer language speaking and more...)
