Cambodia went through one of the darkest chapters in modern history between 1975 and 1979, during the brutal rule of the Khmer Rouge.

At the Choeung Ek Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21 prison), the suffering of the Cambodian people is still deeply felt — these places stand as silent witnesses to a time when millions lost their lives, families were torn apart, and an entire nation lived in fear.

For visitors, this is a journey of learning and respect. It is highly meaningful to explore these places with local experts, who can share personal stories, historical truth, and deeper insight that cannot be found in books alone.

By visiting, we honor the victims, stand with the survivors, and carry an important message forward: such horrors must never happen again — not in Cambodia, and not anywhere in the world.

A journey to the Mekong Delta is not just a tour — it’s a deep dive into the soul of Vietnam.

Known as the “Rice Bowl” of the country, this vast network of rivers, canals, and islands offers a completely different experience from the busy streets of cities like Ho Chi Minh City.

If you visit Vietnam and skip the Mekong Delta, you miss a huge part of the country’s identity. This is where Vietnam slows down, where traditions are alive, and where every river tells a story.

The Bamboo Train, locally known as the “Norry,” was created out of necessity during the years after Cambodia’s civil war.

With railway infrastructure damaged and transportation limited, local villagers in Battambang ingeniously built simple platforms made of bamboo, powered by small engines, and placed them on abandoned railway tracks.

These makeshift trains became a vital way to transport people, rice, animals, and goods across the countryside. What started as a practical solution has now transformed into one of Cambodia’s most unique and memorable travel experiences.

👉Why will you love to experience it? It’s unlike anything else in the world, you sit on a simple bamboo platform, just inches above the tracks, and glide through open rice fields, local villages, and peaceful countryside.

It’s fun, a little adventurous, and very authentic. One of the most exciting moments is when two trains meet on the same track—one has to quickly dismantle to let the other pass! It’s simple, but that’s exactly what makes it unforgettable.

✅When visiting Cambodia, the Bamboo Train is more than just a ride — it’s a journey into local life and creativity. It shows how Cambodian people adapted with resilience and innovation during difficult times.

😢Missing this experience means missing a story of survival, culture, and a truly unique way of travel that you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

🥰If you want to enjoy the Bamboo Train in the best way, choose TruUs Adventures. With experienced local experts, smooth organization, and a deep understanding of Cambodian culture, TruUs Adventures ensures your journey is not just a ride — but a meaningful experience.

From safety to storytelling, they turn a simple bamboo train trip into a highlight of your Cambodia adventure.

If you’re looking for something truly unique in Cambodia, coconut worms are an experience you won’t forget.

Known locally as a special delicacy, these small, creamy-white larvae are found inside coconut trees and have been enjoyed for generations, especially in rural communities.

Harvesting them is part of the adventure — locals carefully open the coconut trunk to collect the worms fresh from inside. For many Cambodians, this is not just food, but a connection to tradition and nature.

When it comes to taste, coconut worms are surprisingly rich and buttery, often compared to a soft seafood flavor.

Some people enjoy them raw for the full experience, while others prefer them lightly fried or grilled for a crispy outside and creamy inside.

For curious travelers, trying coconut worms is more than just tasting food — it’s stepping into authentic Cambodian culture.

It’s a story you can tell, a moment you’ll remember, and a true taste of local life that goes beyond the ordinary.

Củ Chi Tunnels in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam — Breathing Through Termite Mounds

The tunnels were completely underground, but people still needed air to survive. So the Viet Cong created very clever ventilation systems.

The air holes were disguised as termite mounds you see in the jungle. From the outside, they look natural—just like part of the forest—but inside, they connect to the tunnels and allow fresh air to flow through.

It was so well hidden that even trained soldiers often walked right past without noticing anything.

At Ta Prohm Temple, the jungle gently reclaims what time has left behind.

Here, you don’t just visit a temple — you feel a deep connection between nature, history, and the quiet beauty of something eternal.
