Little changes 1. Elephants in our project are not getting ride by tourists.. Money paid by tourists really goes to poor locals( buy rice..clothes and school stuff for kids to go to school....)
2. Proce at the ELIE is 85 usd perperson for whole day or 55usd for half fay ( the other half of the day doing some quite herd jobs like roads..bridges etc..for the project benefits..(not the elephants)
We..organizers of Bunong Elephant-Project
Do NOT own the elephant (some in ELIE...EVP have beed bought by them..) we and also minority bunong people feel like owning THEIR elephants is actually stealing their culture..we d rather keep the elephants with them..as they do have for hundreds of years already...and pay them..give them jobs..and make sure the elephants have good life and are not mistreated...
Last..(but not least)..our elephants at the bunong elephant project are totally free at all time..never got tight ( night and day time)..(opposite from ELIE where they have to tight them in the night time due to a lack of space ( they are not in the jungle but in limited area...))never use a hook to make them go where they don t want to go...the bunong people consider the elephants as a part of their familly and actuallytake a very good care of them
