The village doesn't fight the flood. Hidden inside a limestone cave, the sacred never feels far away. Kampong Trach is one of those places that doesn't announce itself. You walk through the rock, the light changes, and suddenly you're standing in front of golden Buddhas, fresh flowers, prayer flags and offerings arranged with the same quiet care they have been for generations. The cave holds it all : cool, silent, completely apart from the world outside. The most sacred spaces are rarely the most famous ones.

Dried seafood, fried snacks, chilli by the kilo, the Riverside Walking Street on a Sunday afternoon is Cambodia's most honest food market. No menu, no translation needed. You point, you pay almost nothing, and you eat better than you expected every single time.
The flags wave overhead, the Mekong rolls past, and the whole city seems to end up here eventually.
