(Battambang)៖ On 18-21 March 2026, Ecosystem Services and Land Use Research Center (ECOLAND) RUA – Royal University of Agriculture in collaborating with CIRAD under the project framework title “Agroecological Crop Protection: Towards International Co-Innovation Dynamics and Evidence of Sustainability (ACROPICS)” had conductued data collection including in-depth interview with a total of 40 household farmers within Kanghort Irrigation Scheme of Battambang province. This data collection has two main objectives: 1) assess the Agroecological performance using (TAPE) tool and 2) identify challenges and opportunity toward agroecological transition in the targeted study area.

(Takeo): On 17 March 2026, a research team from the Ecosystem Services and Land Use Research Center (ECOLAND), Graduate School of the Royal University of Agriculture (RUA), conducted a field visit and consultative discussions with Agricultural Cooperatives (ACs) in Takeo Province, including:

1). Tram Kak Union of Agricultural Cooperatives
2). Tram Kak Modern Agricultural Cooperatives

The objective of this meeting were to conduct a Training Needs Assessment (TNA) for each cooperative and to prepare for an upcoming field visit of cooperative representatives to Ireland, scheduled for May 2026.

Under the project framework of:
“Agroecological Crop Protection: Towards International Co-Innovation Dynamics and Evidence of Sustainability (ACROPICS)”.
Funded by: The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) within the Horizon European Program of the European Commission.

Research titled: Development of a participatory modelling tool to better understand the perspectives of agroecological transition in irrigated rice-growing areas, including the identification of irrigation and agricultural development pathways that align with the Principles of Agroecology.

Objective of staff mobility:
1). Strengthening local Agroecological Crop Protection (ACP) initiatives.
2). Building a strong network of teams and future experts in ACP.
3). Strengthen our staff's skills, knowledge, and research capabilities.
4). Fortify the collaboration between our two bilateral centers.

(Battambang, Kampong Thom, Takeo)៖ On 26 January until 13 February 2026, Ecosystem Services and Land Use Research Center (ECOLAND) RUA – Royal University of Agriculture in collaborating with Partnership for Agroecology Transition, Networking, and Efficient Resilience (PArTNER) had conductued data collection including in-depth interview with representatives from agricultural cooperatives which identify as project partners and 205 households interview with project beneficiaries to 1) assess the Agroecological performance using (TAPE) tool and 2) identify challenges and opportunity toward agroecological transition in three project intervention area including Battambang, Kampong Thom and Takeo province.

This comprehensive trainning aim to deepend understanding of data enumerators regarding questionniare, concept and principles of agroecology, mapping of farming systems and equip data enumerators with necessary skills to work independently in the fields.

The workshop was co-organized by the Ecosystem Services and Land Use Research Centre (ECOLAND), Graduate School, Royal University of Agriculture (RUA), Cambodia and Centre for Co-operative Studies (CCS), Cork University Business School (CUBS), University College Cork (UCC), Ireland under financial support from the Embassy of Ireland in Vietnam.

The objectives of this workshop include:
1). Sharing and raising knowledge about the project to be implemented
2. Review the feasibility of the project and next steps in engagement and
3. To build rapport and strengthen effective communication among stakeholders.

The workshop brought together approximately 25 participants, including representatives from MAFF, Department of Agricultural Cooperative Promotion, Provincial Departments of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (PDAFF), Agricultural Cooperative Unions, Modern Agricultural Cooperatives, researchers, and other related institutions.
