Hello friends
I am writing for a family I know in Cambodia, when we were in Peru I mentioned the family who were hit hard and continue to be so from Covid19.
Cambodia is heavily dependent on tourism revenue and garment trade where factories closed in 2020 and did not reopen. 80% of families have no income and during the pandemic they received maybe 1 bag of rice every 28 days if they were lucky from their government.
Why we do not know much about this is because like Communist China, the Cambodian government restricts their people from the media, they are monitored and detained. They have NO Freedom of speech, no real freedom at all. They have very minimal rights.
I met Lem when I traveled to Cambodia in 2015, he was my Tuk Tuk driver and drove me through Siem Reap, Angkor Wat Temples and helped in every way possible. I helped Lem through covid, with donating money directly to his family, Lem used this to not only take care of his family but feed his village.
Lem has been traveling to the forests to hunt for frogs, to provide for his family. His village being a remote rural area is forgotten and struggling. There are no charities that support the villagers, the mothers who have new children, do not meet the nutritional values to keep their babies alive. We can not help the whole world, but maybe just once, we can help a villiage.
I am reaching out, not to ask for money although if you can donate, that is appreciated also, but to help in spreading the word to your church, bible groups and friends in any kind of donation for their family and the village. I donate directly to the Western Union and he picks it up.
I have attached his family picture and a tour of his house, when it rains, which it does for 40% of the year, everything you see in that video is wet, it's a thin tin roof and it floods.
My goal is to see if we can raise 1,000 USD for his village. Are you able to help me spread the word enough to people you know and ask for help, for Lem and his family and the village people he lives with.
Thank you for your help, it is just enough for me that you read and even the consideration is generous enough. I thank you.
I have Lem's details, email, number and can share the information for your groups to make the donations direct to Lem, they do not need to come through me, I am sure he would love to hear from anyone who helps. Let me know if you can.
I am and I know Lem is truly grateful
