Preah Khan Temple in Kampong Svay,BenMeaLea, Kampong Kdei Bridge included tickets

Here is a detailed itinerary for visiting Preah Khan Temple in Kampong Svay (also known as Prasat Bakan).
Beng Mealea. Explore for 1 hour. Since it opens early, you'll have the ruins mostly to yourself. Climb through the overgrown galleries.
Visiting this site is not a typical day trip—it's a true expedition. This colossal, jungle-engulfed temple complex is actually the largest single temple enclosure ever built by the Khmer Empire, with an outer wall spanning an incredible 5 km by 5 km—even larger than Angkor Wat itsel. Because of its remote location and rough terrain, it remains largely off the tourist trail, offering a genuine "lost city" experience.
🗺 The Classic Day Trip Itinerary (from Siem Reap)
As there are no hotels or facilities near the temple, the most common and practical way to visit is on a full-day tour from Siem Reap. Here is a typical schedule for this adventurous day:
· 07:30 AM: Early Departure from Siem Reap. Tours often require a very early start. You will be picked up from your hotel, and it's recommended to pack a breakfast to eat on the road.
· 08:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Scenic Drive. The journey covers about 160 km and takes roughly 3.5 to 4 hours. The drive is scenic, winding through rural farms and local villages. You will also make stops along the way:
o Kampong Kdei Bridge (Spean Praptos): A stop to see this impressive 12th-century Angkorian stone bridge, one of the few surviving from the era.
o Local Snack Stop: A chance to observe and taste how traditional bamboo sticky rice is made.
· 11:30 am : Exploring Preah Khan Kampong Svay. You will spend a significant 3 to 5 hours exploring the vast temple complex. This is the heart of your expedition, where you can wander through the main temple of Prasat Bakan, its impressive galleries, and the island temple in the ancient baray (reservoir).
· 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Return Drive to Siem Reap. After your exploration, you'll begin the long journey back, arriving at your hotel in the early evening
