St. Kitts took center stage at the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s (CTO) Caribbean Week 2025, held in New York City from June 1–6, 2025, with a strong delegation that showcased the island’s leadership, cultural vibrancy and growing influence within the region’s tourism sector. From high-level forums to a vibrant cultural showcase, the destination was at the heart of a week-long celebration of Caribbean excellence.

“Caribbean Week was an incredible opportunity to showcase St. Kitts on an international stage,” said Honourable Marsha T. Henderson, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and International Transport. “Our strong presence throughout the week highlighted the destination’s commitment to tourism growth, cultural exchange and meaningful partnerships. We are humbled by the incredible response and interest St. Kitts has received throughout the Caribbean Week.”

📍 PMAC 2025 | Regional Partnership in Action

SCASPA's Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Calvin Duggins, joined key maritime leaders in Curaçao to sign a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing tugboat services, strengthening safety measures, and fostering shared growth across regional ports. This milestone marks a unified step toward smarter, safer, and more efficient port operations in the Caribbean.

A regional step forward in maritime cooperation
During the PMAC Conference, an MoU was signed between Surldric Rojer, Managing Director of KTK Tugs Curaçao; Darwin Telemaque, Chief Executive Officer of the Antigua Port Authority; and Calvin Duggins, Chief Operating Officer of the St. Christopher Air and Seaports Authority. This collaboration aims to enhance tugboat services, improve safety, and create economies of scale across the ports of Saint Kitts & Nevis and Antigua & Barbuda.

SCASPA’s CEO, Adeola Moore, shared major updates on ongoing infrastructure upgrades and the rollout of the new Common Use Technology Equipment (CUTE) at the RLB International Airport.

Denise Christopher and Icilma Pemberton Thomas emphasized the importance of staff participation in the upcoming election on pension percentages.

As SCASPA continues to evolve, the organization remains committed to being a driving force in national development.

Last Friday, seven high schools competed for the chance to represent St. Kitts & Nevis in the upcoming Regional Tourism Youth Congress, which is proudly hosted in partnership with SCASPA and the Ministry of Tourism.

🏆 Winner: Immaculate Conception Catholic School (ICCS)
🥈 1st Runner-Up: Verchilds High School (VHS)
🥉 2nd Runner-Up: Saddlers Secondary School (SSS)

The event was attended by Minister of Tourism Hon. Marsha T. Henderson, Permanent Secretary Tivanna Wharton, and SCASPA CEO Mrs. Adeola Moore, all showing strong support for youth development in tourism.
