Through the Hampyeong Butterfly Festival, it presented a new vision of regio
nal development and to establish a stepping stone for leaping globally. It was promoted to become the 2008 Hampyeong World Butterfly & Insect Expo. From 2006 until 2008 it was run under the administration of the Hampyeong World Butterfly & Insect Expo Chairman after that, it was created to become the Hampyeong Expo Park. Expo Park Information
The Hampyeong Expo Park ha been created after holding the 2008 Hampyeong World Butterfly & Insect Expo which consist of the Expo Park, Hwayang Geunri Park, Hampyeong Eco-Wetland Park and the Red Bat Exhibit. It's called as Hampyeong Expo park with a total land area of 744,546㎡ includingof the parking area with a total land area of 244,419㎡. As the Butterfly Festival is being held in spring, Hampyeong Expo Park is planted with rape flowers, poppy flowers and baby's breath. When summer comes, the Water Park is operated where the whole family can enjoy. It hosts the Grand Chrysanthemum Festival filled with its scents in autumn. The Hampyeong Expo Park is always open in addition to the festival period to increase the number of visitors and it’s the main tourist attraction in Hampyeong. Starting this year, it is always open for free except during the festival period and some cases through amending and passing an ordinance. It's a green park full of abundant and four-season sceneries and established with the plan not only for landscape sightseeing but also for recreation and relaxation. Along the main pathways, holly trees and others are planted and it is planned that attractive trees and shrubs like the emerald green tree be planted constantly in the future.
