Panmunjom - the truce village in DMZ. The armistice that brought Korean war (1950-1953) to a close was signed there. 1) The white poles between trees are the demarcation line. 2) The concreted sill run in the middle of the conference room is also demarcation line dividing North and South. 3) Inside of conference room. 4) The bridge of ' No Return ' - 13,000 UN & South Korean POWs and 83,000 Chinese & North Korean POWs crossed the bridge. Once he crossed, he could not return. 5) In 1976, two American officers were killed by North Korean guards. American and South Korea soldiers were there to prune the tree - in a photo below - to get better sight between guard posts. A surprise attact! NK guards attacked with axes. 6) Operation Paul Bunyan - American commanders called the aircraft carrier Enterprise into the east sea and ordered B-52 to stand by DMZ. South Korean soldiers went into Panmunjom and destroyed guard post of North Korean. 7) Kim ilsung, the grandfather of Kim jungeun, apolozied to America and South Korea for the incident. 8) JSA (Joint Security Area) - another name of Panmunjom had demarcation line go in the middle of Panmunjom after the incident.
