The friendly Stingray City snorkel shore excursion staff will be waiting for you just across from the cruise ship terminal in Grand Cayman. They will get you checked in and in the transportation for a short drive to the dock where your snorkel excursion boat is waiting. Three hours of pure fun on this Stingray City snorkeling excursion! Your first shore excursion stop will be the world famous Stingray City Sandbar. You will cruise out of Governor's Harbor into the North Sound. When you arrive, the local Grand Cayman cruise excursion guide will help you into the waist-deep water and instruct you on how to hold, pet and even possibly feed these docile rays. There is nothing to fear with the calm creatures but you may choose to stay on the boat if you wish. After your encounter with the stingrays at famous Stingray City, the Grand Cayman shore excursion captain will take you to the Coral Gardens (known also as the Aquarium) for your first snorkel. The guide will pass out the snorkel gear, demonstrate how to use it and then lead you into the water to explore. There is seemingly endless coral and brightly colored fish to see as if looking through a kaleidoscope. You will have approximately 30-45 minutes at each snorkel site. Your second stop will be the Barrier Reef (also known as Fisherman's Reef) to view another impressive display of moving color just below the surface. Bottled water will be served onboard. The captain will take the boat back to the pier afterwards where the transportation will drop you back off at the cruise pier. Note: There is a variety of boats used ranging from 32 feet to 60' feet.
