The lake named after the heroine of the World War II Manshuk Mametova located at Zailiskiy Alatau mountains, and is a part of Ile-Alatau National Park. This cold and lifeless lake was formed due to melt of ancient glaciers. On the way to the lake you will also pass by Mynzhylky dam, which was constructed to protect the city from a rapidly melting glacier.
A one day hiking tour to Manshuk Mametova allows you to see the outstanding mountainous landscape, do hiking to the lake and enjoy a delicious barbecue high in the mountains.
