On this date (16/4) nine years ago (2014), girls and women wore traditional clothing to celebrate Pi Mai (Lao New Year) in Luang Prabang 🇱🇦

There was a lot of standing around and waiting for the parade to start but the colorful parasols helped.

On this date (16/4) three years ago (2020), my green onion “plant” was thriving in Valparaiso, Chile 🇨🇱

In addition to (finally!) learning how to cook 👩🏻‍🍳 during COVID lockdowns, I also started figuring out kitchen hacks like prolonging the life of herbs and onions by sticking them in water. 👩🏻‍🌾

On this date (16/4) three years ago (2020), Andrés and I went for a very short walk from my apartment building to the 22 de Mayo lookout point in Valparaíso, Chile 🇨🇱.

COVID lockdown was in effect and the streets were deserted, but the city still sparked at night while the port continued to work.

On this date (16/4) four years ago (2019), the elevators in a Paris 🇫🇷 office building put this inspirational ✨ message in my face.

That attitude is much more 🇺🇸 than 🇫🇷 so the text in English (instead of French) seems fitting.
