when you approach an Elephant
1. Like or love elephants!
2. Never approach any elephant without
the mahout!
3. Never walk close behind an elephant nor approach
him from behind!
4. Do not run around the elephants; avoid quick movements
and loud speech!
5. Elephants love to be touched but never touch their
sensitive areas – as the tip of the elephant’s trunk, nor
the flesh where tusks would be to grow nor around the eyes!
6. Do not cuddle the elephant’s trunk!
7. Do not hold an elephant’s tail!
8. If you carry food, give it to the elephant; don’t
tease the animal!
9. Always believe in our experts, guides, mahouts – and ask
for advice if you are uncertain!
10. Never fully trust an elephant!
