🇱🇦 KNOW LAOS — THE LAND WE GUIDE

Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia. No coastline, no ports. Just mountains, plateaus and one very long river.

📏 236,800 km² — about half the size of France
🏙️ Capital: Vientiane, on the banks of the Mekong
🧭 Five neighbors: China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar
⛰️ About 70% mountains
🗻 Highest point: Phou Bia, 2,820 m

🌊 And running through all of it, the Mekong. It begins on the Tibetan Plateau in China, reaches Laos at the Golden Triangle, passes Luang Prabang and Vientiane, forms most of the border with Thailand, and finally spreads into the 4,000 Islands before dropping over Khone Phapheng, the largest falls in Southeast Asia.
