Tourists visited in large numbers the country, and were taken care of by qualified guides, introducing them history, geography, culture and traditions of Lebanon, In 1965 the guides decided to regroup themselves within a Syndicate to represent them in the government. During the crisis from 1975 till 1991, the syndicate was paralyzed, its revival happened on the 24th of July 1995, the syndicate com
mittee is fully recognized by the ministry of tourism and ministry of labor, thus being able to take part in important decisions related to the rights and duties of a hundred Lebanese guides
Our aims and objectives are quite simple:
• To promote professional development for tour guides,
• To provide opportunities for continuing education for tour guides,
• To encourage professional integrity and ethical conduct in our dealings with each other and with the public,
• To provide a forum discussion of issues of concern guides.
• To keep members abreast of any current information relevant to the profession through educational meetings and programs,regular membership meetings and newsletter.
• To work with the appropriate government and private tourism related organizations to resolve issues of mutual concern and to create a visitor friendly destination.
• To represent the intrests of the tourist guide profession in general and the Lebanese tourist guides in particular, in matters involving the local, national and international community
