DAILY EXPLORER 🌍😍
[Beirut's Local Hangouts]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We all have that go-to lounge place where we chill over a salad, or get creative with friends, focus on projects or just grab a cup of coffee for that espresso-fueled energy booster that helps us get through the day…
There is something about the sights, sounds and scent of these quaint places that stimulates good vibes and productivity, from the music that plays softly from our favorite speakers, or the noises of people talking, cups clattering and espresso machines whistling. We do miss the comforting scent of delicious pastry and freshly brewed pot of coffee from sweet, caramel aromas to earthy, floral or spicy notes. 🙆‍♀️☕️
Although we'll be having our coffee at home for a while now due to the corona/economic/security situation, we want places like Aaliya's Books, Urbanista, Suz' Coffee Bar, Cafe de Penelope, Tusk Bakery, Cantina Sociale, Cafe Younes, and illy Lebanon to be forever supported and loved.
So, If you would like to be part of the rebuilding and reconstruction effort for our network and community, please go to their pages, follow them for updates on how help and donate. We will also start a fundraising campaign on behalf of all our Zawarib network very soon— watch this space!
Till then, stay safe!❤️
Maria Halios Mayrig Cynthia Raffoul Jewelry
The designer, restauranteur and jewelry maker were part of the wonderful energy making Mar Mikhael and Gemmayzeh the design and culinary hub of Beirut, were also at the forefront of the tragic and cataclysmic blast.
Now it’s up to all of us to save not only these businesses, but also this unique area. Everyone who knows Beirut knows the particular magic of these neighbourhoods.
DAILY EXPLORER 🌍😍
[Beirut's Bountiful Bars]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Us Lebanese love our bars and night life! We are known for our free spirit and the ability to drink and party any day of the week.

It breaks our heart to see a little of this spirit fade away with the destruction of our beloved Beirut, and of the lifestyle and livelihood that these places provided for thousands of people and their families!

But worry not, we will be back and better than ever strolling down the streets to visit our favorite bars and catching up with the people inside and behind those places... Super Vega, Anise, Brew inc., Vagabond, Sole Insight, Demo, Bread Republic + The Wine Room, brazzaville, Caravanserail - Live music bar and restaurant, The Liquor Coffee Store, Tota, Cantina Sociale, BARDO, Cafe de Penelope, Salon Beyrouth, Al Falamanki and MusicHall Beirut with a drink in our hands and a song in our head having a good old time with our closest friends.

So, If you would like to be part of the rebuilding and reconstruction effort for our network and community, please go visit their pages, follow them for updates on how to help and donate.

Meet 👋🏿 Nada Debs!

One of our favourite designer’s Studio Nada Debs - born in Lebanon 🇱🇧, raised in Japan 🇯🇵, studied in the USA 🇺🇸, lived in London and now based back in Beirut.

Nada Debs incorporates a “Wabi Sabi” technique in her work where she celebrates the beauty in imperfection. Arabesque qualities are equally pronounced in her work, making the outcome of each piece truly unique and breathtaking - and fantastically East meets West aesthetics.

Keep up with Nada and visit her website: https://www.nadadebs.com/en/home

Hi 👋🏻 Wadih Sayegh 💎

Wadih, who has a degree in Gemology, has always seen way beyond the gem as a stone, but as a form of art. To him, art has always been an expression of colors and textures, and jewelry, though a form of art, is also pleasure… and almost an obsession.
It’s not only me me me, but also I I I … He wants his jewelry to embody someone who is Independent, Intelligent, and Intellectual.
Jewelry, like actions, can speak louder than words, and today, is a concept jewelry boutique, featuring handcrafted limited edition jewelry along with an open art space for hosting multi-disciplinary artists from all over the globe. It’s the perfect example of a successful collaboration of talent on all fronts: designers, sculptors, calligraphers, painters, architects and artisan.

Check him out online: http://www.khawatem.com/en/pages/home

Meet CYNTHIA RAFFOUL!

It all began when someone asked Cynthia to draw some jewelry pieces a while ago, when she discovered jewelry and its infinite power to evoke emotions through it’s look, shape, energy and history. After many years of training in history of stones and art & design, in late 2008, she opened her jewelry shop in the heart of Beirut, halfway between Gemmayzeh and Mar Mikhael, by the Gholan steps.

Art is an expression of emotion and the feeling deep within one’s heart. Art exhibitions can be an amazing place for our community to share and experience their feelings as well as help motivate people through pictorial representations of pain, happiness, sorrow, glee, jealousy, etc.

In the mid of the sadness and mourning, it's beautiful to see people support each other, rise up together and do what we can do to rebuild affected arts and culture organizations and spaces.

If you would like to be part of the rebuilding & reconstruction effort for our network and community, please donate to one of these arts & culture chosen charities.
