Healing Wounds of History is newly featured on PeaceInsight among the dozens of significant peace projects and organizations currently active in Lebanon.

Published by Peace Direct, Peace Insight is the leading online resource mapping local peacebuilding in conflict zones worldwide.
This flagship website maps and profiles over 1,500 local peacebuilding organisations working on the frontlines of war. Their unique network of Local Peacebuilding Experts provides first hand insight into 44 conflicts raging around the world.
The site is a one-stop resource for journalists, academics, peacebuilders and policy makers looking to understand the scope and impact of conflict resolution work around the world.

PeaceInsight maps local organisations to raise awareness of local peacebuilding and increase public support for them.
The work of local people who dedicate their lives to stopping war and building peace is rarely publicised.
Despite saving lives in war zones, their work is routinely overlooked, their projects remain underfunded and their successes aren’t replicated. This must change.

PeaceInsight research demonstrates that there are a wide range of high quality programmes that are identifying and directly intervening to prevent conflicts on a wide range of issues, from land conflicts to demobilisation and reintegration of militia members.
However, a frequently voiced opinion in the interviews they conducted was that there was not enough sharing of information or collaboration between those different projects.
PeaceInsight hope is that the mapping can provide a practical resource to increase coordination, while facilitating more support to local groups active in this area.

The success of module 3 in year three of the Healing the Wounds of History workshops conducted by Alexandra Asseily, Mathew Pruen, and assisted by Mirvat Bakkour, is a sign that we have a firm foothold in the future of this exciting and transformative program.
We welcomed a great diversity of participants from different countries and backgrounds: self development, teaching, NGOs, and healing.
The module included once again a diversity of tools to work on relationships with ourselves and “The Other”, “What is my responsibility for peace in the world?”, “The power of language” and many other challenging procedures to bring peace and understanding.
In continuing this transformative journey, we bring to reality new possibilities for the future. As the HWH community continues to grow, it takes HWH further out into the public arena through families, schools, work and communities.

Healing the Wounds of History Training programme Module III, Year 3: Facilitated by Matthew Pruen and Alexandra Asseily took place 18th, 19th, 20th November 2016 at the Silk Musuem, Bsous.
