🚶 New trail to WADI EL ASWAD with DALE CORAZON - LEBANON EXPLORERS

This hike in Qobayet belongs to North Lebanon, is one of the highlights of a visit to Lebanon where the scenery 🔭 is really beyond description.

This time we will enjoy a hike with special combination: Ozor & Cedars Forests at Wadi El Aswad, a trail of our ancestor, perfect weather conditions and beautiful peaceful scenery.

📜 DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

This time we will go walk on a beautiful trail and visit Wadi Al Aswad (the Black Valley). Our hike will start at Bawabet Akkar, on a trail known as Tariq El Ingliz. We will walk altogether as one group on that trail, and then hike in the Black Valley. All info and description of the forest will be described on site.
Wady El Aswad is combined with different forests, like junipers, hairy oaks, cypresses, cedars, and Cilician firs. The forest of hairy oaks is to be counted among the most beautiful forests in the world.

HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous

🥇 The easy level 3 will continue to the Sanam trail for approximately one hour and a half.

🥈 The intermediate level 4 will continue for approximately one hour more.

📃 EVENT DESCRIPTION:

It’s the cherry-picking season in Tannourine village. Join us and get the chance to share special moments and delight in exceptional activities in nature.
We will start our day by exploring the land and picking cherries; nothing is better than a sweet red cherry right off the tree. Of course, you will be provided materials for work (participants can bring with them gloves if they prefer).
Then we will make a visit to Tannourine village where we can get the opportunity to visit St Challita Old Crusade Church that ages more than 1000 years. Later a tour in Balaa: it’s an easy walk down to reach a platform. There, we will see the waterfall of Balaa into the Baatara Pothole “The cave” also known as the "Cave of the Three Bridges".

Our lunch will be nearby with the villagers in a small Snack, we will sit together, share and watch the beauty of our nature and you can also have your own picnic lunch.

🚶 Hiking Trip from BAROUK Cedars to AMMIQ Wetland with DALE CORAZON - LEBANON EXPLORERS

Al- Shouf Nature Reserve (the largest one in Lebanon, it constitutes 5.3% of Lebanese territory).
The reserve is the southern limit of Cedrus Libani, it is an Important Bird Area (IBA) and Eco-tourism area (a Biosphere Reserve). Part of the reserve is the Aammiq wetland.

Ammiq is the biggest swamp in Lebanon (100 hectares) and one of the most important places for migrating birds. It has a watching tower to observe them.

Our visit will begin from Barouk cedar forest; the birthplace of the Lebanese poet, Rachid Nakhleh (composer of Lebanon’s National Anthem). On the spot, the reserve team will be there to accommodate us and give a quick presentation.

Once in Ammiq, the hike is diversified. You get to walk along the edge of mountains where the scenery is great, beyond description.
