This month, we celebrate the legacy of Emily Nasrallah (1931–2018), one of Lebanon’s most celebrated authors and feminists. Born in the village of Kfeir in South Lebanon, her work is deeply rooted in Lebanese identity, culture, and history.
Emily’s novels, such as "Birds of September" and "Flight Against Time," reflect the struggles of Lebanese emigrants, the resilience of women, and the longing for home. Through her poignant storytelling, she captured the essence of Lebanon, its beauty, challenges, and the strength of its people.
An advocate for women’s rights and education, Emily Nasrallah’s work transcends time and borders, making her a cherished figure in Lebanese literature and beyond.
