🇱🇧 Discovering the Beauty of Lebanon – Falougha, Qornayel & Hammana 🌿
Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of exploring three of the most beautiful destinations in the Baabda District: Falougha, Qornayel, and Hammana.
Our journey began in Falougha, where we visited the majestic Falougha Cedar Forest, home to the first Lebanese flag ever raised in the mountains by the late General Jamil Lahoud, father of former President Emile Lahoud. Surrounded by these magnificent cedars, we were reminded of the deep connection between Lebanon's natural heritage and its national identity.
We then continued to the Roman archaeological remains overlooking the valley, where breathtaking panoramic views stretch from Mount Sannine to Mount Hermon (Jabal El Sheikh), embracing both the eastern and western mountain ranges.
Our next stop was the Sohat Water Bottling Plant, where we learned about the importance of preserving Lebanon's natural springs and the exceptional quality of the region's water resources.
From there, we headed to the famous Qornayel Ponds, a remarkable ecological and agricultural landmark that plays a vital role in supporting local biodiversity, sustaining the surrounding ecosystem, and providing an important resting and feeding site for migratory birds along their seasonal flyways. Their peaceful beauty makes them a favorite destination for hikers, birdwatchers, photographers, and nature lovers seeking tranquility.
After enjoying a delicious traditional dinner at Al Wissam Restaurant, we concluded our day with a walking tour through the historic town of Hammana, discovering its rich heritage, charming streets, and unique architectural landmarks.
Every journey reminds us that Lebanon is a country of extraordinary beauty, rich history, and vibrant communities. By supporting rural tourism and protecting our natural and cultural heritage, we help preserve this treasure for future generations.
This is our Lebanon. These are the villages that deserve to be discovered, appreciated, and protected. ❤️🇱🇧
🇱🇧 اكتشاف جمال لبنان – فالوغا، قرنايل وحمانا 🌿
يوم السبت الماضي، استمتعنا برحلة مميزة إلى ثلاث من أجمل بلدات قضاء بعبدا: فالوغا، قرنايل وحمانا.
بدأت رحلتنا من غابة أرز فالوغا، حيث يقع الموقع الذي رُفع فيه لأول مرة العلم اللبناني على يد العميد الراحل جميل لحود، والد الرئيس اللبناني السابق العماد إميل لحود. وبين هذه الأشجار العريقة، استحضرنا العلاقة الوثيقة بين التراث الطبيعي للبنان وهويته الوطنية.
بعدها توجهنا إلى الآثار الرومانية الواقعة على قمة التلة، حيث استمتعنا بإطلالة بانورامية ساحرة تمتد من جبل صنين إلى جبل الشيخ، وتشرف على سلسلتي لبنان الغربية والشرقية في مشهد طبيعي يأسر القلوب.
ثم زرنا معمل مياه صحة، وتعرّفنا إلى أهمية الينابيع الجبلية في المنطقة ودورها في توفير مياه نقية وعالية الجودة، إضافة إلى أهمية المحافظة على هذه الثروة الطبيعية للبنان.
ومن هناك انتقلنا إلى برك قرنايل الشهيرة، التي تُعد من أبرز المواقع البيئية والزراعية في المنطقة، لما تؤديه من دور أساسي في دعم التنوع البيولوجي، والحفاظ على التوازن البيئي، وتأمين محطة استراحة وغذاء مهمة للطيور المهاجرة خلال رحلاتها الموسمية. كما تشكل البرك وجهة مفضلة لمحبي الطبيعة، والمشي، ومراقبة الطيور، والتصوير البيئي.
وبعد الاستمتاع بعشاء لبناني شهي في مطعم الوسام، اختتمنا يومنا بجولة في شوارع حمانا التاريخية، حيث اكتشفنا معالمها التراثية، وهندستها المعمارية المميزة، وسحرها الذي يجمع بين التاريخ والطبيعة.
في كل رحلة نكتشف من جديد أن لبنان وطنٌ غني بجماله الطبيعي، وتاريخه العريق، وقراه النابضة بالحياة. ومن خلال دعم السياحة البيئية والريفية والحفاظ على تراثنا الطبيعي والثقافي، نساهم في حماية هذا الإرث للأجيال القادمة.
هذا هو لبنان الذي نؤمن به... لبنان الطبيعة، والتراث، والضيافة، والجمال. فلنكتشفه، ولنحافظ عليه، ولنفتخر به دائماً. ❤️🇱🇧
