𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. ❤️🙏

Our partner, Caritas Dominica, has been working closely with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Social Services in response to the recent devastation in the East of Dominica caused by the trough weather system on April 26, 2026. 🌧️

The severe flooding and landslides affected 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬, leaving many families in need of urgent support. 🏠🌱🤝

As part of the response, Caritas Dominica has donated 25 disaster kits to the Department of Social Services for distribution to affected households. 📦❤️

In moments of crisis, Caritas remains committed to being a beacon of hope, compassion, and solidarity for those most in need. 🕊️✨

𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚 – Caritas Antilles, the social action agency of the Roman Catholic Church in the Caribbean, continues its longstanding commitment to supporting healthcare services and vulnerable communities through the donation of essential medical supplies to the Millennium Heights Medical Complex , including the Owen King EU Hospital (OKEU).

This latest shipment of medical equipment and supplies, generously provided through Caritas Antilles’ long-standing partnership with Food For The Poor, includes:

The donation, valued at approximately EC$200,000, will support frontline healthcare professionals and strengthen the capacity of the hospital to provide essential services to the population, particularly those who are poor and vulnerable.

Caritas Antilles has been facilitating medical donations to Saint Lucia’s health sector for many years through partnerships with international humanitarian organizations. These contributions have played an important role in strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring that essential supplies reach those most in need.

Mrs. Marcia Haywood, Regional Director of Caritas Antilles, noted that the organization remains committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of communities across the region. “Caritas Antilles is guided by the mission of the Catholic Church to serve all of God’s children, particularly the poor, the vulnerable, and those most in need. Through partnerships such as Food For The Poor, we are grateful to continue supporting the health sector in Saint Lucia and contributing to the care and dignity of those who depend on these services.”

As the humanitarian arm of the Roman Catholic Church, Caritas Antilles works across the Caribbean to support communities through humanitarian response, social programs, and partnerships that promote human dignity and solidarity. 🌪️Join the Hurricane Melissa Response Team

Caritas Antilles is looking for a 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 to help coordinate and implement critical response efforts following 𝐇𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐚.

This role will support emergency relief, early recovery efforts, multi-purpose cash assistance, and social protection initiatives while working closely with diocesan teams, community volunteers, Caritas staff, and government partners.
