Dining at our Treehouse Villa in Soufriere, St. Lucia with our Chef Fabie is often one of our guest’s favorite dining experiences on the island. When guests arrive she prepares a full course meal of a number of farm and sea to table treats. As many of our guests tell us, there is nothing like experiencing first hand Lucian home cooking. Whenever we get back to the island it’s certainly the first thing that we look forward to. And of course the rum punch prepared is one of the best on the island.

With all of the increases in oil costs, getting around in St. Lucia will certainly get more pricey as this summer unfolds. We‘re starting to see prices inch up to the $6.50 US per gallon mark and it would not surprise us to see prices climb such that we hit $7 US per gallon, which is certainly a high water mark. Electricity rates have already spiked nearly 40% due to extra charges (surcharges) that are being added to monthly bills with the power company.

One way to save a bit is to hybrid, a great technology that can really save those travelers that are doing a fair amount of driving around from one part of the island to another. We were amazed at how much fuel savings we saw in switching our Subaru AWD vehicles over from gas only to that of the newer hybrid technology. It is certainly something to consider as gas prices continue to rise.

We’ve had such a busy late spring season at the Treehouse Villas in Soufriere, St. Lucia with many happy guests enjoying our villas and our unique area. Thanks to all we have been able to come and experience our hospitality.

Coming up soon is Carnival month in July with many fun events planned for the island. We still have a few openings for this special month so if you are looking for a special Caribbean getaway, make sure to check our schedule.

With travel fares and other costs increasing, you can certainly save a lot by visiting St. Lucia during the summer and staying at a villa like ours. On average, guests find that they can save 2x to 3x that if a resort stay. This can certainly help your travel budget and give you the opportunity to stay longer and enjoy more of the island.

Our very recent Treehouse Villa 2 waterfall plunge pool rebuild. A great spot to cool off and chill, enjoy the Pitons and the lush Treehouse gardens. Our pool guys did such a great job rebuilding the pool!

On our trips tp St. Lucia we're often just going full speed to get everything completed around the villas. This trip the focus was on remodeling a pool, updating some electrical, and sprucing up the gardens. But every now and then we can get out a play tourist to check out some fun things in the area. Guests are often leaving custom made chocolate bars in our fridges that they make at Project Chocolat so on this trip we thought we would check out the "bean to bar" activity to see what we've been missing. Here you get to put your candy making skills to work by crafting up a little chocolate bar. It's a touristy thing but quite fun.

On the way to doing the activity we ran into our friend Chef Billy on the road and we set up a reservation to go visit his local restaurant for a date night out.

Enjoying the neighborhood with Scare--one of the best local coffee makers in St. Lucia. You can find the St. Lucia Rainforest brand in our Anse Chastanet neighborhood and by special order. It's a fabulous coffee.
