The Walawe River begins from heights of Adam’s peak and flows across Sri Lanka, through the dry zone, and to the Sea. Take an unforgettable journey on this majestic river with the Walawe Jungle River Safari. The two hour trip begins at Ambalantota, in the Hambantota district.

You may interest in spotting some wildlife in an area known for its rich bio diversity. The area spotted six varieties of mangroves, 52 fish species, 72 bird species, 38 plant varieties and 28 animal species. As you travel down the river, listen as peacock call from their roost. White bellied sea eagles, cormorants and curious langur monkeys. The lucky naturalist might even spot a crocodile before it sinks beneath the surface.
