For these three friends, Sri Lanka wasn’t just another holiday destination — it was their first international journey together.

❤️ A Honeymoon Journey to Remember in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰💍✨

Some journeys are more than just travelling from one place to another — they become memories that stay with us forever.

I feel truly honoured that these two lovely souls chose me and our beautiful Sri Lanka for their honeymoon. ❤️

Together, we spent 12 beautiful days and 11 nights, discovering the many sides of our island. From experiencing our rich culture and heritage, to encountering amazing wildlife, travelling through the misty mountains, and finally relaxing on the golden beaches of the Southern Coast. 🌿🐘⛰️🌊
There were adventurous moments, peaceful moments, plenty of laughter and, most importantly, so many happy days filled with fun and beautiful memories together. 😊❤️

For me, being a chauffeur and travel companion is not simply about taking guests from one destination to another. It is about sharing our country, creating experiences and becoming part of memories that will last a lifetime.

Dambulla Cave Temple

The Dambulla Cave Temple is an ancient Buddhist monastery carved into a massive granite outcrop in Dambulla, Sri Lanka. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991, it is celebrated as the country’s largest and best-preserved cave temple complex, renowned for its remarkable murals, sculptures, and continuous use as a place of worship for more than two millennia.

Highlights

This remarkable complex consists of five principal cave sanctuaries beneath a towering rock overhang. Together they contain 157 statues, including numerous depictions of the Buddha alongside figures of Sri Lankan kings and Hindu deities, while vibrant Buddhist murals cover approximately 2,100 square meters of cave ceilings and walls. The paintings illustrate scenes from the Buddha’s life and important moments in Buddhist tradition, making the site one of Sri Lanka’s greatest collections of religious art.

History and significance

The caves have been associated with Buddhist monastic life since the early centuries BCE. Tradition holds that King Valagamba (Vattagamini Abhaya) sought refuge here during exile in the 1st century BCE and later transformed the caves into a temple after reclaiming his throne. Successive rulers expanded, restored, and embellished the complex over many centuries, preserving it as both an active monastery and an important pilgrimage
