Update!

Please note the following changes to the Schengen visa application process for Sweden in Sri Lanka:

Effective 1st June 2026
Applicants whose main destination is Sweden must submit their Schengen visa applications at VFS Global, Colombo. Applications will be assessed by the Embassy of Sweden in New Delhi.

End of Current Arrangement

Norway currently represents Sweden for Schengen visa applications in Sri Lanka. This arrangement will cease on 31 May 2026.
Key Dates and Application Cut-off
* 15 May 2026: Final date for submission of Sweden applications under the current arrangement.
* 16 May – 31 May 2026: No applications for Sweden will be accepted.
* Applicants unable to submit by 15 May must wait until 1 June 2026 to apply.
Applicants Who Applied via Norway
* Applications submitted on or before 15 May 2026 will continue to be processed by the Norwegian Embassy in New Delhi.
* Applicants who registered and paid via the Norwegian portal but have not submitted documents may request a refund by contacting: [email protected]

Appointments via VFS Global (Norway Process)

Applicants who have booked an appointment via the VFS Global Norway portal for Sweden applications are requested to cancel their appointments through their account.
* Refund eligibility may apply if cancellation is completed at least 72 hours prior to the appointment.
No Change
There is no change to the application process for Norway, Denmark, or Iceland.
