Posted • .lanka The stunningly located is one of our favorite hotels in Sri Lanka. However I often hear from our guests that the website doesn’t show the real beauty of the place, so I wanted to share more about them.

The place is situated in the hills around Kandy; it’s a great base for exploring the city but provides a much more tranquil ambiance and stunning panoramas. It’s magical not ony due to its beautiful views and nature, but because being located off the beaten track allows guests to discover an authentic side of the island. The lovely owners and create a special, homely atmosphere, personally taking care of their guests.

I truly believe that a stay at Ellerton is a must when exploring Sri Lanka 💜

Dear Partners and Travellers, as today we cerebrate World Elephant Day 🐘 we’re so proud to announce our support towards the elephant conservation project with this gem of a publication: ‘Proboscidea - The Emotional Lives of Elephants’ by Hamish John Appleby from Australia.

This book was composed to inspire, inform and educate, by bringing people closer to elephants through positive and emotive imagery and interesting text. The author spent extended time in Sri Lanka, specifically to photograph elephants and visit locations completely closed to visitors, so that he could sit, sleep and breathe among them.

Your trusted travel partner, Exemplary Voyages is and have always been an animal friendly entity and a member of the Animal Welfare Organisation, with all our adventurous experiences come with no harm to animals. We have now included a copy of Proboscidea as part of the welcome pack for our VIP clientele, and it’s noteworthy to mention the funds from book purchases go directly towards buying medicine for elephants. 🐘🐘🐘

On your next visit to Sri Lanka, make sure to stop over at Anuradhapura, the capital city of North Central Province, where you can lay you eyes on this marvellous structure ~ 📍Ruwanwelisaya 🇱🇰

This structure is known as a ‘stupa’, which is a hemispherical design containing relics. It was built by Sinhalese King Dutugemunu in c. 140 B.C and has the most imperial collection of relics of Gautama Buddha. Ruwanwelisaya is one of the world's tallest ancient monuments, standing at 338 ft and it has captured the hearts of people from near and far. This creation serves as a key location for pilgrimages and embodies the prosperous artistic heritage of Sri Lanka.
