🐘 WORLD ELEPHANT DAY | 12 AUGUST
Sri Lanka — Where Giants Still Roam Wild 🇱🇰
Sri Lanka is one of the world’s remarkable destinations for seeing wild Asian elephants. But they are far more than a tourism attraction — they are part of our natural heritage.
As an industry that benefits from our wildlife, tourism also has a responsibility to protect it.
Human–elephant conflict affects both elephants and the communities that share their landscapes. Responsible tourism can be part of the solution — by respecting habitats and elephant corridors, avoiding harmful interactions, educating travellers and supporting local communities.
If we promote them, we must also protect them.
This World Elephant Day, let us move from conflict to coexistence — protecting elephants, protecting communities and protecting the future of Sri Lanka.
