The Kandy Esala Perahera is a spectacular Buddhist festival in Kandy, taking place from August 18 to 28. It celebrates the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha through grand nightly parades filled with decorated elephants, traditional dancers, drummers, fire performers, and other cultural performances. It is one of Sri Lanka’s most important and visually impressive religious and cultural celebrations.
