Its no wonder why Sri Lanka keeps topping the charts as the Best Island to visit in 2019.

If you are visiting between August and September, you are likely to experience this natural wildlife phenomenon that takes place in the Minneriya and Kaudulla National Parks. It is during this time that the Parks gain fame in the viewing of “the Gathering” of wild elephants. If you are lucky, you will see between 50 and 300 wild elephants making their way to the shores of the reservoir in what is considered to be the largest known meeting point of Asian Elephants in the world.
