A wonderful moment for Connaissance De Ceylan at ITB Berlin 2026, where we received the Travelife for Tour Operators Partner certification, recognizing our ongoing commitment to responsible tourism.

The certification reflects the continued work across our operations to align with internationally recognized sustainability standards, including environmental practices, responsible sourcing, and meaningful engagement with local communities and partners.

At the Travelife ceremony held during ITB Berlin, Maxime Wickramasinghe, Director - Marketing & Business Development, and Daham Rajasekara, Director General Manager at Connaissance de Ceylan, received the certification on behalf of Connaissance de Ceylan.

This milestone marks another step in our journey to create travel experiences that celebrate Sri Lanka’s landscapes, culture, and communities while encouraging more responsible ways of travelling.

We were honoured to represent the timeless charm of Sri Lanka at Portugal’s premier travel exhibition, BTL - Better Tourism Lisbon Travel Market 2026.

Every journey with Connaissance De Ceylan is a celebration of Sri Lanka’s spirit. Through boutique stays rooted in history and cultural adventures that brought the island to life, we showcased travel experiences that connected authenticity with modern sophistication.

At the Sri Lankan Pavilion, Mr. Maxime Wickramasinghe, our Director for Marketing & Business Development along with one of our leading managers Ms. Dhanushi Perera, engaged with tour operators seeking trusted DMC partnerships, distinctive itineraries, and high-quality boutique hospitality solutions tailored to diverse markets.

As BTL 2026 unfolded in Lisbon from 25 February to 01 March, We were delighted to present Sri Lanka’s rich traditions, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality, reaffirming our commitment to meaningful travel and global visibility.

We are proud to announce that Connaissance De Ceylan has officially entered into a strategic partnership with NSBM Green University through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on the 11th of February 2026.

This collaboration is a testament to our commitment to fostering the next generation of hospitality, tourism and business professionals. By bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry expertise, we aim to provide NSBM students with unparalleled career development opportunities. This includes structured internship programs and the co-hosting of industry-focused events, workshops, and seminars designed to provide a first-hand look into the evolving world of Sri Lankan hospitality.

The MoU was signed by our General Manager, Mr. Daham Rajasekara, alongside Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of NSBM.

The ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Thilini De Silva (Dean - Faculty of Business), Mr. Lasitha De Silva (Senior Lecturer), and Ms. Sherein Abeygoonasekara (Career Guidance Officer) from NSBM, together with Ms. Gayani Fernando (Assistant Manager - HR) and Mr. Apoorva Suraweera (Junior Executive - eMarketing) representing Connaissance De Ceylan.

We bid farewell to a truly extraordinary soul, Dr. Jacques Soulié, a beloved psychiatrist, professor, and former Director of Alliance Française Kandy. French by birth but Sri Lankan at heart, he dedicated his life to education, the arts, and cultural exchange. Even in his final days, he worked passionately on translating the Mahavamsa and preparing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the cultural center he built.

Dr. Soulié’s legacy of love, learning, and cultural connection will continue to live on in all of us who were lucky enough to know him.
