When you purchase authentic Sri Lankan products from 'Urban Island Home', you will not only be taking the essence of Sri Lanka home, but will also be empowering local artisans to continue their traditional livelihoods. a not-for-profit initiative of the 'Design for Sustainable Development' Foundation supported by the AOD International Design Campus, with the aim of preserving Sri Lanka's craft heritage and uplifting artisan lives across the island. Our dedicated store is at 33 Duplication Road, R.A de Mel Mawatha, Colombo 04. We are open from Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6.30pm (Closed on Sundays and Poya Holidays).

Kalathri Guruge is a Sri Lankan fashion designer whose work is rooted in the philosophy of slow fashion. She handcrafts pieces that carry emotional values, transforming overlooked materials into artisanal fashion.

Bricolage brings together a collection of collaged tapestries made entirely from offcuts and damaged fabric pieces generated within Kalathri’s own fashion atelier. Each piece is designed through the process itself, beginning with what is at hand and bringing out the creative expression that emerges when material lead the way.
