The Sri Lankan sloth bear (Melursus ursinus inornatus) is found in mainly dry zone forests. Males can grow up to 140kg and stand up to 6 feet tall on its hind legs. Its claws can be a deadly weapon if provoked. Sloth Bears feed on special berries when in season and on insects, especially ant larvae.
