Morning over the section of rampart connecting the Triton and Vlagklip Bastions of the 17th Century Dutch fort of Galle, Sri Lanka. On the left is the old town inside the walls of the fort. The Vlagklip Bastion (also known by its later English name, Flagrock) is the southernmost point of Fort Galle and, beyond it, the Indian Ocean stretches 8,000km, almost unbroken, to the Antarctic.
