Elon Musk made headlines by joining a video call from his home while onboard Qatar Airways' first flight featuring Starlink internet. Flight QR1, operated by a Boeing 777, departed from Doha to London Heathrow, marking a significant milestone for the airline's in-flight connectivity.

Passengers experienced impressive download speeds of up to 215 Mbps, far exceeding the typical 5 Mbps offered by standard inflight WiFi. Starlink WiFi is free for all passengers, enhancing productivity for business travelers and allowing for video calls, streaming, and online gaming.

Qatar Airways plans to equip 12 Boeing 777-300s with Starlink by the end of 2024, expanding its reach to all 777s and Airbus A350s in the following year. Musk emphasized ongoing improvements to the service, assuring users that Starlink's capabilities will continue to enhance, making air travel more connected than ever.

Emirates A380 collided with a jet bridge at Paris CDG, flight cancelled

On 22nd July, an Emirates Airbus A380 collided with a jet bridge at Paris CDG Airport, damaging its engine cowling.

The Airbus A380-800 with registration A6-EDO arrived as flight EK71 from Dubai. However, the A380 collided with an airbridge while taxiing to the gate. As a result, the aircraft’s left outer engine was damaged but caused no injuries to anyone.
