Inclusive Tourism & The Pekoe Trail
Sri Lanka is a paradise for travellers, offering something for everyone. From luxury experiences to authentic journeys through our villages, mountains and tea country.
The 300 km Pekoe Trail is a great example of inclusive tourism. While large tourism companies cater to high-end travellers, the benefits of tourism should also flow down to the grassroots. Such as local guides, drivers, homestay owners, farmers, small businesses and communities along the trail.
Tourism is like a cake. It should not belong to a few; it should be shared with everyone.
The essence of inclusive and responsible tourism is creating same opportunities for the public too.
