Guiding my friends through the quiet grace of a Buddhist temple, I love showing how the lotus is more than a flower… it’s a story of letting go, growing through the ‘mud,’ and carrying home a souvenir that stays in the mind, not the suitcase.

One of the greatest joys of being a tour guide in Sri Lanka isn’t just showing off the beauty of my country, it’s the people I get to meet along the way.
Mariah came all the way from South Africa with a group of 63 jolly good travelers. we shared laughs, explored hidden corners of my paradise island and created memories that felt like family.

On our party night together, she said something that truly humbled me - words I’ll forever keep close. Here’s the thing, tour guiding is never about one person. It’s a team effort. From the office Staff, drivers, to the hotels, to the local support and even the warm villagers we meet along the road. I just happen to hold the microphone and look at time!!! (And of course, lots of true stories)

Guiding that much crazy people at once? Well, let’s just say it’s a bit like herding elephants… except the elephants don’t argue about shopping stops!

Most of all, I want to thank my mentors and teachers who polished me up, taught me the craft, and showed me what true hospitality means. Without your guidance, I wouldn’t be standing here today. Specially Sujith Yamasinghe, Stewart Kreltszheim, Andrew Ace Coulson.
Feeling grateful for the friendships, the trust, and the joy of connecting hearts across continents.

Exactly a year and a half ago, I had the honour of working with these two incredible tour experts through 𝘊𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘴 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭. This company truly walks its talk: ‘𝘌𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘫𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵.’ 🌍
Even though I wasn’t guiding this tour, we made the effort to reach out and meet. I joined them, shared a few laughs, and had the privilege of giving a short talk to their student group about the 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗿𝗶 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗮. 🇱🇰🗣
These are two of the kindest, most genuine professionals I’ve met in my career — and being remembered by people like this means more than any itinerary or title.
