Sri Lanka's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism has appealed to the public for assistance in identifying a woman believed to be of Sri Lankan origin and currently residing in Lebanon.
In a public notice, the ministry said the woman is reportedly known as "Rahma", but her identity and family details have not yet been confirmed.
The ministry requested that anyone with information about the woman contact the Consular Affairs Division at its office on the 16th Floor of Suhurupaya, Battaramulla.

The ministry assured that all information received in connection with the inquiry would be treated with strict confidentiality.
While the notice did not provide details on the circumstances surrounding the inquiry, Al Jazeera recently reported that a woman believed to be of Sri Lankan origin was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon after reportedly remaining in the area to care for stray cats and dogs.
According to the report, the woman was identified only as "Rahma". Sri Lankan authorities have not officially confirmed her identity or publicly linked the appeal to the reported incident.
