Ambuluwawa Tower Is Located On The Ambuluwawa Mountain.

Ambuluwawa mountain peak is 3567 feet above sea level and over 1000 feet above Gampola Town. The tower is located on top of the mountain peak. Because no other mountains are in the surrounding area and because of its unique location, Ambuluwawa Tower gets an undisturbed view from far away.

The tower is visible from Gampola Train Station. You can even nicely photograph that view, which is pretty unique.

Circled by iconic Sri Lankan mountains like Bible Rock, Adam’s Peak, and the Knuckles Mountain Range, Ambuluwawa offers impressive landscapes. Even on foggy days, these landmarks remain visible. Furthermore, from the top of Ambuluwawa Mountain Hill, one can see several other peaks and the entire area of hills in the Nuwara Eliya district.

Ambuluwawa Mountain has significant historical and biological importance. According to the history the Royal Palace of King Buwanekabahu IV, was situated in this location in Gampola. The king governed the country during the period from 1341 to 1357
