What started as an unplanned dash to experience Pekoe Trail - Stage 10 (Horton Plains to Dayagama) back on 25th November 2023, out of fear the entrance to Horton Plains via Dayagama wouldn't stay open longer, turned into an unforgettable multiyear adventure. When we saw how beautifully crafted the trail was, We Trips Lanka decided to build a platform for local / foreign travelers, expats and students to experience Sri Lanka’s central highlands at a sustainable, local pace (about one stage a month) and we officially started the trail on 15th June 2024. We completed this journey with a total of 87 participants, where some completed all 22 stages with Trips Lanka and others completed individual stages, finally coming to a completion 26 months after inception on 15th August 2026.
Fast forward to today, we didn't just complete the trail, we did it together. Finishing all 300+ kilometers across all 22 stages from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya is a massive milestone for our community.
Throughout this journey, we created millions of memories, snapped thousands of photos, explored hundreds of local attractions and spotted incredible wildlife. None of this would have been possible without our dedicated travelers, whose weekend commitment made the impossible doable.
