Butterflies was incorporated and as a Private Limited Company in May 2006, and was registered with the Sri Lanka Tourism as an Inbound Tour Operating Company shortly afterwards. The Company also received the membership of SLAITO (Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators), and more recently received the membership of the Love Sri Lanka Alliance & IGLTA (the International LGBTQ+ Travel Associ
ation). The activities of the company include operating inbound tours for free independent travelers as well as group incentive travelers. The portfolio comprises of standard guided round trips, beach stays and excursions from the beach hotels. Our concentration presently lies in Australia, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Germany, East Europe and of course, the United Kingdom. Amongst our specialties, we cater to a wide range of clientele with our large array of options for touring in Sri Lanka and Maldives. Whilst we are the ground handlers for the largest Dutch FIT operator to Sri Lanka, we also take care of the ground arrangements for the largest European producer of Ayurveda Holidays (wellness tours). We are also intimate with the cultural holidays, beach holidays, sporting holidays and special interests based holidays - hot air ballooning / white water rafting / marine activities / camping, hiking and trekking / Safaris in National Parks etc. Amidst our other specialties, we also excel in sports oriented holidays, which are operated through our sports arm - Kreeda Holidays. With the participation of our team in the organising, four hot-air balloon festivals took place between 2003 and 2011, with over 15 balloon teams totalling to over 75 members from all over the world participating at each festival. We are also the ground operator for the Barmy Army Cricket Academy in the United Kingdom, of which teams visit Sri Lanka annually for cricket fixtures with the local opponent teams. We also cater to many school teams from the UK, for their sports tours, which include cricket, rugby, golf, hockey and netball.
