🚆 Rebuilding the Kandy–Badulla Railway Line After Cyclone Ditwa 🇱🇰💙

Over the past days, our beloved Kandy–Badulla railway line—famous across the world as one of the most scenic rail routes on the planet—was severely damaged by Cyclone Ditwa. Landslides, fallen earth, and shifted tracks brought trains to a halt, but not the spirit of our people.

Today, railway workers, local communities, and volunteers came together with incredible determination to restore this historic line. From clearing mudslides near tunnels to realigning tracks by hand under the scorching sun, every moment showed unity, strength, and love for our hill-country heritage.

This railway line is more than steel and sleepers—it's a lifeline connecting villages, a symbol of Sri Lankan engineering history, and a journey admired by millions for its misty mountains, lush tea estates, deep valleys, and iconic bridges like Nine Arches.

Seeing everyone join hands to rebuild it reminds us of what we can achieve when we stand together. ❤️🙏

Let’s appreciate the silent heroes working day and night to reopen this magical route once again.

🌿 Diyavini Ella Falls – Sri Lanka’s Secret Cascading Wonder! 🌿

The breathtaking Diyavini Ella Falls (දියවිනි ඇල්ල) hidden deep in Sri Lanka’s lush wilderness! This stunning waterfall, cascading over mossy rocks into a crystal-clear pool, feels like nature’s own private paradise. 💦✨

Diyawini Falls is about 60 m (197 ft) high and is a tributary of the Diyavini River, and flows into the Walawe River. This is in the village of Diyawinna in the town of Balangoda in the Ratnapura District. It is the 37th tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka.

You can reach the waterfall after traveling about 30km on the Balangoda-Kapugala road via Godakawela town on the Ratnapura-Embilipitiya main road and then turn towards Weligepola and proceed to Diyawinna. To reach the foot of the waterfall, climb the hill where the waterfall is located along the footpath at the foot of the Devagiri Cave Temple in Diyawinna village.
