For example certain travellers might enjoy doing their own research, picking transport modes and times of travel, deciding on which hotel to stay in when at a certain local destination. From the moment you confirm your holiday with us, we put you in touch with a ‘Tour Manager’. This person will become your local best friend even before the holiday. You will stay in touch through WhatsApp, Facebook or Skype so you get to know each other. On arrival you will not be met by any representative but this friend you have been in touch with. He/She will then take you on a Sri Lankan holiday, like only a Sri Lankan best friend can. This eliminates the feeling that you work with a company and gives you a feeling of being, totally at ease. Now you won’t have qualms about wanting to see something more or do something else. Hence our saying, ‘we don’t do itineraries, we do friendships’. Foozoo Features - Built on local insights
Sri Lanka is becoming a big travel destination. And with it each destination is becoming one in a line of places you need to see or visit. That in our eyes, is completely wrong. Sri Lanka’s magic lies in how you experience a destination. So while time constraints may require you to go on the much travelled tourist route, we will make every one of those stops unique. This is achieved by pacing your travel, recommending minimum stay times, including local activities, meeting locals, doing what locals do and taking you ‘off the beaten track’. We refer to these inclusions and enhancements as ‘Foozoo Features’. Some of these include visiting secluded waterfalls only locals know off, spending a night in a tree house, fishing by a lake and then preparing your own fish, playing dress up in traditional Kandyan attire or even the selection of hotels where the property has a story to tell about that particular destination.

• Supporting reforestation efforts by planting trees to offset the negative impacts of Co2 emissions arising from each tour.
• Limiting waste arising from each holiday by providing reusable travel packs featuring metal straws, cutlery, toothbrushes etc.
• Incorporating eco-friendly personal care item such as soaps, shampoos, toothpaste etc
• Connecting with the human side by putting you in touch with needy people or communities. In the past these activities have involved supporting local LGBT organisations, provision of wheelchairs, planting trees or helping a rural school

Foozoo Travel & the LGBT Community
Because Foozoo Travel is LGBT owned it has a focus on LGBT travel. The same holistic approach of the business can therefore also extend into fostering a better understanding of the LGBT community among the local population. It also allows the founders a chance to showcase their home to a likeminded audience. However Foozoo Travel, in the spirit of inclusivity is really for everyone.
In the years ahead we look forward to aggressively marketing our products to pet friendly, disability friendly, solo women travel groups.
Is Foozoo Travel only for Sri Lanka?
The simple answer is no! We are working to expand the Foozoo travel experience to countries within the South Asian region. We are also looking to build a network to facilitate outbound travel from Sri Lanka and the region to other global destinations.
